Free QR code generator
Make a WiFi QR code for your guests.
Stop spelling out your WiFi password at the front desk. A WiFi QR code lets customers point their phone camera at a small sign and tap once to join your guest network. There is no typing, no squinting at tiny router stickers, and no asking your staff between appointments. You enter your network name and password in the form below, and our generator builds the code right in your browser. Your password is never sent to our servers. Print the code on a tent card for your waiting area, frame it at the reception counter, or stick it inside a treatment room.
Your password stays on this device. It goes into the code, not to our servers.
How to make your QR code
- 1Type your exact WiFi network name (SSID) as it appears in your phone settings, including capital letters and spaces.
- 2Pick your router security type. Most modern routers use WPA, WPA2, or WPA3. Choose No password only for open guest networks.
- 3Enter your WiFi password carefully and check the box if your network name is hidden from public lists.
- 4Choose your code colors and optionally add your shop logo, then test the preview with your own phone camera.
- 5Click Download PNG for small table cards or Download SVG if a print shop is making an acrylic sign.
Tips before you print
- Create a separate guest network on your router before making the code so visitors cannot reach your point-of-sale terminal or office printer.
- Keep the code dark on a light background. Inverted codes with white dots on a dark sign fail on many Android cameras.
- Print the network name in plain text below the QR code for guests with older devices or laptops.
- Place the sign at eye level near seating areas rather than behind the cash register where people line up.
- If you change your WiFi password every few months, use a DoorStepQR business page so you can update the password on screen without reprinting your sign.
One QR code for your whole business. Edit it anytime.
Free codes lock the link into the printed pattern permanently. With DoorStepQR Pro, you get up to 20 editable codes plus a mobile business page for your services, opening hours, WiFi, WhatsApp, booking link, and Google reviews. Update your page from your phone in seconds without reprinting a single sign. Your codes keep working even if you cancel.
No card needed. $9/month after your trial.
Frequently asked questions
Does DoorStepQR store my WiFi password?
No. The free WiFi generator runs entirely inside your web browser. Your network name and password are encoded directly into the image dots and never touch our servers.
Which phones can scan a WiFi QR code?
iPhones running iOS 11 or newer and almost all Android phones made in the last several years connect automatically when you point the built-in camera app at the code.
What happens if I change my router password later?
Standard WiFi QR codes hold the password inside the printed pattern itself, so changing your router password means printing a new code. If you want to change WiFi details without reprinting, put a DoorStepQR business page behind your code and use its WiFi section.
Why does my phone say it cannot join the network after scanning?
Double-check capital letters, spaces, and trailing characters in your network name and password. Network names are case-sensitive, so 'SalonGuest' and 'salonguest' are treated as two different networks.
